I’ve just been bimbling around town and looking in LCE the window display of a Tamron 18-400mm f3.5 caught my eye. Has anyone had any experience of these lenses? I currently use a canon 70-300mm and it’s fine really for my hobby shots at airshows. But an all in one lens with 100mm extra reach and a wider aperature has got me thinking...
Over to you ladies and gents to educate and inform!!

Yes thank you LN I had seen that and looked up various other online reviews - it’s what google is there for and I am quite ofay with how to get information already online thank you.
I was specifically asking the good people of UKAR as their experiences and thoughts are not only more relevant but they might well have further practical ideas related to the specific nature of aviation photography. But thank you for your input.

I read on a FB Group that it wasn't great and the person was sending it back. He couldn't fault the range, but it was soft at either end IIRC

Bear in mind that the maximum aperture varies across the zoom range - f/3.5 is only at the short (18mm) end - zoom in to 400mm and the aperture closes to f/6.3
