Wanted: volunteers to help run UK Airshow Review!

As some of you are aware, UKAR has lost a number of staff members over recent months. We are all volunteers and now need to replace them. We are particularly looking for volunteers interested in moderating the forums, writing content and running Picture of the Week.

Moderators should ideally be long-standing members of the UKAR community with a history of contributing to discussions, but all applications will be considered.

During the year we like to report on as many airshows and events as possible, so we need a group of people willing to write short reports and help organise the photographic content. Most volunteers tend to offer photos for use both in reports they may write and for reports others may write. This gives us comprehensive photographic coverage in a number of different styles. Here are some recent examples of reports:

Picture of the Week is one of our favourite aspects of UKAR, showcasing the wonderful talent we're lucky enough to have posting their shots on the forums. We need volunteers to help select photos, contact the posters to ask for details of equipment etc., and to write short captions for each shot. For the writing and PoTW positions it does not matter if you have not been a member for long, or if you do not post on the forums - we're just looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to help out. The positions aren't rigid - everybody tends to do a little of everything if they wish, be that moderating, writing, or helping to create web pages. There are also no requirements as to how much work you do - obviously the more the better, but it really is up to you.

Many thanks to those of you who have offered support. We have decided to set a deadline of 2359 Wednesday 2 April for applications. We'll decide on a way forward shortly after that and will be in touch with everybody who contacted us.
