FSX Airshow

Post by strangelookingalien »

I was thinking since so many people on here are budding display pilots and there has been talk of a UKAR Red Arrows team, why not have a regular UKAR Virtual Airshow - maybe on a monthly basis? (or less frequent if thats a bit much).

It would give the site something to review over the winter months :tounge:

Anyway, just a suggestions

FSX don't work properly on my pc, (frame rate Issues)
I am frequently on the UKAR server on FS 2004, Never seem to see anyone else on there these days.
Whats happened to everyone, did they all get bored???
I was on at lunchtime today, around 12.30 till 1400, all i saw was Wendell my buddy from USA who i prearranged to fly with.
I thought with the weather outside being so rubbish some more of you would have been on.

I can never get on to FSHost servers, usually as people don't set their routers up properly! :(

FShost is rubbish for display flying anyway, you get major jitters when flying close to another aircraft

You can put my name down for some fsx display stuff .....but as ever with these sort of events, I feel they only work if everyone has the relevant aircraft models on their PCs

Shouldn't be flying close to other aircraft when displaying unless you mean formation flying.

I flew with wendell yesterday, we were using 2004 on UKAR Server & we were flying Stearmans, Chipmunks & Robinsons R22 Helicopters really close to each other In Formation & we never experienced any "Jitters"

It's fine for small, slow aircraft, as the refresh rate doesn't need to be that high, anything fast moving will always jitter, even if you're on a Gigabit internet connection!

Strange, I had an FSHost server running direct from a data center, on a 5 G/bit connection, down to 2 10Mbps home ADSL connections, both with major jittering!

I'll stick to IVAO and the UKMIL server though :P

FSD is great! :D

FS9 has always had problems with a jumpy/jerky/jittery motion of other people's aircraft, as does FSHost with FSX. The Gamespy multiplayer in FSX is better, but it doesn't work properly with Acceleration, so it's pretty crap really!
