ACG Duxford FSX screenshots

Just downloaded the Airfield Construction Group's Duxford scenery and WOW! It's amazing! it comes with an option to include an airshow crowd (pictured) and it hardly affected my FPS. One of the best freeware sceneries I have ever downloaded :king:

Hi,

Yes, it's very impressive. Congratulations to ACG - and and it's free!

I do have a problem though inthat I can't see any of the airshow addon AI aircraft. I've installed/re-installed several times but still don't see the Catalina, B17, Rapide etc. I've checked my scenery and traffic settings (they were on very high anyway).

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

A.

p.s. I also set the date/times.

I didn't even know about the AI aircraft  (Should always read the manual  ) I downloaded it from Justflight and it just installed the scenery. I downloaded the entire pack again, this time from flightsim.com and it came with a seperate installer for the AI.

I don't wish to seem patronising, but have you run the installer for the AI?

Hi

For those who downloaded our scenery from Just Flight, they made a slight error with the download leaving out the custom 20 classic AI aircraft pack completely.

It has now been corrected I believe so head back there and try downloading again

you can also get it from

Avsim
Flightsim
Simviation

Any issues please report them on our forum, click the address below..ta

Hello Wes,

Yep, I did install both installer packs. The AI aircraft are in the folders, but do not show up in FSX. I have scenery & traffic both turned up to very high. I followed the instructions to set the scenery layers. I have VFR photo scenery, but I don't think that's the problem because the rest of the Duxford scenery shows up just fine.

Is there anyone out there who CAN see the AI in FSX?

A.

If the AI isnt showing then from feedback we've had since Duxfords release (and it is a known problem in FSX) is that you may have a FS9 traffic file/s which for reasons only known to Microsoft seem to cancel out FSX traffic within the same or close by areas.

The only way to remedy this is to convert the FS9 traffic file (if there is any) to FSX traffic files. There is short explaination of this problem on page 11 of the AI manual and a link to a program that can check if there are any FS9 files in your FSX installation and convert them, which is really the only way to be sure.

Quote from the programs webpage

Don't Mix FS9 and FSX Traffic Files: FS9 traffic files are compatible with FSX. However, as described more fully in the User Manual, if FSX "sees" a compiled-for-FS9 traffic file, it will generate AI traffic for that file and any other compiled-for-FS9 traffic files it "sees"; but, it will not generate traffic for any compiled-for-FSX files. This has nothing to do with AI Flight Planner. It is a FSX "feature".

So, if you don't get (or suddenly stop getting) AI traffic from compiled-for-FSX traffic files, the first thing to look for is a compiled-for FS9 file somewhere within FSX's scope - probably in the Scenery\World\Scenery folder. You'll find AI Flight Planner's Find FS9 Files function very useful for this.

Any problems please pop along to our forum and post there, we are only to happy to help with any issues.

Hello Stevo,

I ran the FSX converter in AIFP before. Maybe I didn't do it properly before, but I ran it again and success! I can now see all the airshow AI.

Thanks for the help and once again congratulations on the Duxford scenery. I fully appreciate the effort that must have gone into this.

I am a regular at Duxford and it really is very realistic.

Regards,
Ashley

I had that problem too but not at DX, turns out I had DX10 preview selected, try turning that off if it's on.

is the DX scenery above your VFR scenery in the scenery library? If so try switching it :dunno:

Hi

If you still have this issue, I'd say you need to install the SP1 and SP2 update which removed issues with custom ground textures.

If you turn on the airshow crowd (oo-er), are there any freeloaders in the naughty field?
