DCS Mirage 2000C

Post by Agg »

RAZBAM Sims in cooperation with The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics are happy to announce that M-2000C is available for pre-purchase from the DCS e-shop

M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM will sell for $59.99 in December 2015. Pre-purchase now for $47.99 and save 20%!

The M-2000C is a multi-role, French-designed, 4th generation fighter. It was designed in the 1970s as a lightweight fighter and in excess of 600 M-2000C aircraft have been built. The M2000C is a single-engine fighter with a low-set delta wing with no horizontal tail. It has excellent manoeuvrability given its relaxed stability and fly-by-wire flight control system. The M2000C also includes a multi-mode RDI radar that is capable of tracking and engaging targets at beyond visual ranges. In addition to engaging other aircraft with cannon and missiles, the M-2000C can also engage ground targets with cannon, rockets and bombs. The M-2000C is a perfect fit for the battlefields of DCS World!

We now bring an exacting simulation of the M-2000C to DCS World. The M2000C is highly optimized to work within DCS World and takes advantage of the Digital Combat environment that only Eagle Dynamics can offer.

I have to say that Im quite exited by this - the P3D/FSX-version is great, so I expect the DCS-version to be even better.

No mention of Mica?

Which version have they modelled as the -5 has a precision strike capability?

Yeah, no precision strike capability as far as I understand, only dumb bombs and rockets.

Yeah, it's not a deal breaker for me either :P

The FSX/P3D-version has the ability to carry LGBs, but the designating and lasing has to be done by another aircraft - maybe that will be possible for the DCS-version as well. Could be fun to have Hogs designating and lasing the targets and Mirages dropping the bombs.

Can JTAC laser designate in DCS, I forget? Either way, buddy-lasing is great fun in DCS and lasing something really quickly while a Mirage screams in to drop some bombs would be awesome.

Looks like they can, I have'nt tried it myself though, and Im guessing the aircraft needs some sort of equipment to pick up the laser, like a targeting pod?

The A-10 specifically? The A-10 I think doesn't need the TGP to pick it up, it uses the Pave Penny. No idea about the Mirage.

In other news, VEAO have cancelled the twin seat for the Hawk. One of the main selling points for it there, sadly.

Bit difficult to cancel it if we never said we would do it in the first place....

Yeah, I'am blown away... I had really high hopes for 1.5, but what we actually got is even better than I ever hoped for. Maybe ED could make some extra cash teaching other sim developers how to make a sim that not only looks incredible, but also runs like a bat out of hell!

And don't get me started on the Albatros... I was'nt really that exited about another trainer (even though I quite like the Albatros as an aircraft), but my god, what a treat it is!

I was the same and I think I preordered it when I was drunk, but it's so much fun to fly. I need to get online at some point and multiseat with someone but it's so good, so much fun and so feature-rich. I love that you can disable features from the backseat too. As far as I know if you're in the back seat in multiplayer you can't use the flight controls but I think the cockpit is otherwise functional.

A real blast to fly.

And agreed, the performance increase and optimisation is insane, even with mirrors and interior lights on I'm staying at 60fps. Phenomenal work from the ED guys - I imagine a fair amount of alcohol will be consumed this weekend.

The M2000C and DCS 1.5 have now been formally released.

The Mirage is good fun to fly with the ability to control the FBW system to go into air2air override... massive angles of attack possible in dogfights!

The simulation isn't yet complete and has a few bugs but it's still fun. If the 530D and Matra are modelled correctly (as they are supposedly), until the advent of the Super 530F and Mica... the French would have been screwed in a war situation.

Unless you're at 30,000ft doing Mach 1.6.... the 530D has a low level range of around 10 miles!

The 530D came after the 530F.

There are things that definitely need to be fixed though. The FBW is completely broken from what the modeller has said so that's being tweaked.
