DCS sale until 26/09/16

DCS currently have a sale on of some of the modules.

The Nevada map is included in the sale. This is the first I have seen it offered in a sale as a stand alone rather than as part of a deal with another module.

Right now it only has 4 airports but that's soon to be tripled/quadrupled. It's a great map.

Well, using the sale, I've taken the plunge into DCS and purchased the Hawk and downloaded DCS 1.5.

I have to say I'm impressed with the graphic quality on my 2nd gen i3 machine. I only messed around with the keyboard rather than my stick but I'll be spending my day off on Friday, properly getting to grip with the sim.

Welcome Wes :-)

Have to say the Hawk doesn't show up the best qualities of DCS.

The Su-25T that is included in the base package is a good introduction to "FC3" level aircraft which are good fun.

If you want to get super technical the Mirage 2000 and A-10C are awesome modules.

Thanks Andy

Having seen the many videos of the Mirage, I must admit I was VERY tempted but I also like the look of the F-5 so for now, I think I'll have a play with the Hawk and the included Frogfoot and Mustang, just to get used to the controls and button assignments (nearly 20 years of MSFS bad habits to get out of).

As Andy said, the Hawk really doesn't do DCS justice, the other modules are awesome though, my personal favorites are probably the MiG-21 and the F-5 (even though it's still in "early access").
