I take it these markings were applied to port only and nothing on the topsides or lower surfaces?

I am afraid the answer to that Ben is long and complicated but in short, it was only ever authorised for a one off event ie the 78 Sqn 95th Anniversary party.
The markings are decals rather than paint so they come off quite easily.

Not likely as this an old post from November last year. Not sure why it's in the Modelling section

Er, do you mean Tony from 78? If so, I don't think it has anything to do with the thread.

78 got what they wanted and their celebrations were a success, why was there any need for them to 'keep in touch'?
