Airfix 1/48th Defiant

Post by keithjs »

My latest project. The newish Airfix Defiant. I built another identical one at the same time for myself as this particular one I'm donating to the Manx Military and Aviation Museum when we go over to the island next month. Built using the Eduard detail set for the cockpit and turret. Thanks for looking.

Great finish to that kit!

Anything to say about how it builds?

It builds a treat, Geoff. At least I personally had no problems. It's typical of most new Airfix kits in that fit tolerances are really tight so even the thickness of the paint can make a difference. Just trim and fettle a little till you're happy. I only put the extra detail parts in simply as it was for the museum but it does add to the finesse.
Mind you, you can't get them at the moment as Airfix are still waiting for the next batch....Due later this month I believe? Also looking forward to the inevitable night fighter version.
