BAe 146

Post by Andover »

Of the two currently available in 1/72 - Freightdog and Welsh models, does anyone have an opinion on which one is best?

Just wondered if you'd got any further with this or made a decision?
I didn't even realise Freightdog did this.

Hi Pete.
Yes, I bought the Freightdog one, and it looks a good shape. I was just curious how it compares to the other one.

The Freightdog one is actually done by Combat Models, I know the guy well. Colin from FD is a friend and helps him sell them... Combat Models also do lots of other nice stuff in 1/72nd.

Personally, owning both resin 146's (100 & 200), i'd say it's the best, but the Welshmodels one will be accurate, but a tad harder to put together being mixed media.

I'm really surprised companies like Airfix or Matchbox (when they did models) never brought out a 146 kit, always fancied making an RAF Royal 32 Sqdn (with the Red tail) example.

Oh well maybe some day?

There is a resin too, though expensive.
