52 Builds, 1 Year

Post by Deacon »

Myself and Arabjazzie (Geoff) have challenged each other to build 52 kits in one year, so I thought I'd better set up a thread
so that the jury (that's you) can see my builds as they are made.

Builds #1 and #2 have already been completed and here they are.

#1 Matchbox 1:72 Fairey Seafox

#2 Revell 1:72 P-51B

So its game on!

As Deacon has challenged me to keep to my aspiration to finish a kit a week, here is the first 2 off the mark.

#1 is Italeris 1/72 Dakota as ZA947/YS-H

#2 is the new Airfix Hurricane Mk1

No pressure but the next one is primed, #4 is just about to fall together and the C-17 should be nearly at that stage as well.
Arabest,
Geoff.

I have a ridiculous number of kits in the loft mate, so this is just a fun way of trying to
whittle the stash down. :dizzy:

Meant to reply to this last week!

Going for promotion at work yet again(5th attempt!) so depending how that goes, depends(Failure or in house training) on if i keep this up or i have to ditch it(success and outside course) for a month or 2.

The decals are on their way at last and hopefully with you tomorrow.

I know Geoff is concentrating on other things at the moment, but I'd still like to keep this thread going
in the hope I can make 52 builds.

Here is number 4 which was completed as part of the Revell GB.

I wish that were true mate, but I need the extra time to make some larger stuff (Avro Vulcan & Avro Lancaster) as these tale 2-3 weeks.

I have got some easier builds planned which hopefully will only take about 4 days making more extra time. :heyhey:

Hello again chaps,
Time for me to catch back up seen as things are now calming down again!

First up in this update is the last in the line of 1/72nd Airfix Hurricanes from the much critisised IIC/Sea Hurricane boxing. This time its the aircraft depicted on the box artwork, LB957/EG-N of 34 sqn RAF SEAC, India. Finished using a mix of Tamiya and Humbrol Acrylics.

Image

Image
And a shot of all 4 so far from the same boxing!
Image
I have one of this boxing left to make PZ865 and one of the related IID Airfix Club boxing that will be making appearances later in this thread!

Next 2 up are Airfix 1/72nd Gnat T1s, one long stalled of the original release and the other from a started set depicting a Red Arrows machine.
Image

I think that now takes me to 5 which is one per weekend by my maths!

One of the shelf of doom should be on their way soon plus 2 Sabres, 2 Harriers and of course the C-17A should advance soon.
Arabest,
Geoff.
