My Dad started this model just over 10 years ago before passing away from Emphysema, and it lay untouched as I couldn't bear to touch it. Anyway fast forward 10 years and 6 months, and it's been pulled out of the stash to finish what Dad started.
This is the kit in question:

And how far Dad got :

I've added some rudimentary detail in the cockpit, such the fuel pipe:

As the kit includes a good representation of the engine I added some plumbing to bring it to life.

And as far as I've got since re-starting the project. I'm trying to do justice to the kit, as Dad would have wanted.

An interesting project with a lot of sentimental significance. Good luck to you, I'm sure that you'll do it justice and your dad will be looking down on you proudly

Thank you! I'm sure he will be. Some more done on Dad's '109.

And it's done. My Dad started this model just before passing away just over 10 years ago. A few weeks ago I took the courage to get it finished as Dad would have wanted. It's been a sentimental build with tears shed. I just hope he likes it? And that I've done it justice? he Bf109F-2 is finished in the markings of Oberleutnant Hans Philip, when he was with II/JG.54 on the Eastern Front in 1941. It's 1/72 and is the Finemolds kit.

Well done, the camo details look good too. Looks very detailed for 1/72.
