Grumman F-14 Aggressor

Post by expat1 »

Hi, yep, another aggressor from me. This time of the Navy persuasion.
Ever since I first swa it at Farnborough in 1976 I've always loved the F-14. When I found pictures of the NAS Fallon based Blue Aggressors it was time to start building.
Based on the excellent Hasegawa 'Atlantic Fleet Squadrons' 1/72nd F-14A model, this gave me the first opportunity to try photo-etch and aftermaket decals. During the build I discovered that 1/72nd is just too small for my tired old eyes so from now on it's 1/48th and above.......Even so I'm pretty happy with the outcome and am looking forward to building something similar in a bigger scale.

After a couple of months building, filling, sanding, painting and weathering here she is...........

Always did like Tomcats in the scheme... Another very nice build! If your building more aggressors in the future. I look forward to seeing them.
