My Merlin Mishap

Have just finished building the magnificent Revell 1/72 EH-101Merlin H.M.A.1 lovely kit, still to decide on paint, thinking of an all over Navy Blue with Black underneath. Unfortunately have had one minor mishap in that the wing mirror type parts supposed to be attached to the cockpit decided to crumble to pieces as soon as I took them off the kit frame things, has this sort of thing happened to anyone else?
