It's taken a while to get some modelling incentive back but here's one I've been toying with for a while. This is the Eduard Weekend edition of their 1/32 Bf109E-4, finished in the markings of Franz Von Werra's aircraft in 1940.
Finished with Xtracolor acrylics and Techmod decals, it's a nice kit. It's been a long time since I built a 1/32 WW2 Luftwaffe kit but there'll be more to come.

Indeed. I remember that we had the the book The One That Got Away by Kendal Burt and James Leasor in the family and one of the photos in it is the famous one of Von Werra's 109 lying in a field. I've wanted to build one ever since. There is still controversy about the colour scheme (did the spinner have red segments and was the forward cowling white underneath) and there are a few variations but my depiction seems to be the currently accepted one.

Very smart.

I might do my Matchbox version in a similar fashion.

The Matchbox 109E is a nice kit. I built one a long time ago.

Very nice of you to say so NIGHTFIGHTER. This is what is in my loft stash at the moment so the Luftwaffe theme will continue.

Good Lord Derek, I think you are going to be busy. One small tip! every so often give yourself a change, because I use my models when I do a Luftwaffe re-enactment ( Missus wont let me get a real 109 ) over the winter months I did a Horten 229, Arado 555, Flitzer, and a few others...And to be honest I got very complacent and started making some real balls-ups...I quickly understood that I was getting fed up with doing the same type of Luft camo, hence the reason I've had a change for a while, just completed a 1/32 spit and after I've completed the 1/24th Hurricane I will go back to a nice 1/32 HS 162 I've got waiting....I mean it though your modeling standard is great and I'm loving what I've seen....Keep it up mate

That picture is about a third of what is in the loft. Lots of 1/72 bombers, (Victor, XB-70, YB-49, Tu-22, etc) airliners, lots of airliners and a good few others too. Oh and 1/24 Spitfire, Hurricane and Fw190.

I really need to stop buying more kits.......
