Revell 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta154

Revell 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta154

My latest effort. This Revell/Monogram Promodeller 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta154 nightfighter. Pretty decent kit but needs lots of weight to keep the nosewhel down. There's weight in the engines, the propeller spinners, the nose, I even resorted to lead in the nose gear bay. I sprayed the Xtracrylix dark grey RLM75 first then masked it off to spray the RLM 76 Lichtblau overall.

Looks great. One of the only decent things to be included in that mistel kit they released!!

You have become quite the natural with an airbrush Derek! Another fine looking build of a unique looking aircraft. It almost looks like a very early Bronco...

Thanks folks. I have a lot to learn with the airbrush but I'm getting there. It might be easier if I picked subjects with simpler colour schemes.

A worthy effort once again! As has been mentioned for a dyed in the wool brush man you've taken to airbrushing with far less drama than I did!

To be honest Craig, it's been a long time coming. I'm now in a position where domestically airbrushing is not too hard, I used to have to brave the garage but now we have a utility room to use.
I'm still unsure of the colours to use. Vallejo airbrushes beautifully but their Luftwaffe colours are very different from the Xtracrylix shades. Who knows who is right though :dunno:
