RAAF Caribou

Post by james solomon »

A question to ask the knowledgeable modellers here I am thinking of this as an idea for an xmas present for dad. He served with 35sqn at Townsville with Hueys and Carribou's and want to try and put a kit together maybe with custom decal set inside it to represent one of the 2 depicted below 1/72-6 or 1/48 would be a nice scale. I was also considering doing up a diorama base depicting the scenery or part of the Townsville tarmac the model will sit on which I think would be a nice trip down memory lane

Although the photos have not appeared, i like the idea of this.

Having very recently seen an operational DHC-4, you have to be careful about the size of this thing! I would say 1/72 would be the best compromise with this but i dont know what the Hobbycraft kit of this is like. As for decals, i seem to remember someone covered these in Aussie service.

I look forward to seeing this on here.
