Travis' Citabria

Travis' Citabria

At this time of year, we get something of a second spring in the SF Bay area. With the temperature still warm (it was in the low 80s at the weekend) and the rain starting again after 6 dry months over the summer, the grass begins to grow again. The light spring green of the new grass contracts nicely with the autumn leaves on the trees and vines.

On Saturday, we got airborne to shoot some air-to-airs of Travis Morton's Citabria for his website. Travis offers flight instruction and aerobatic traning from Sonoma Skypark in this nice Citabria. These were taken from Frank Russo's Cub (thanks again Frank!) with Travis and Eric Presten in the Citabria.

Mike - excellent as usual!

How many air-to-air sorties have you undertaken now?

Some 40-odd since I came to the US around 4 years ago. It's so much less hassle to get stuff done flying wise over here than in the UK, much more of a 'can do' mentality.

Great shots. I particularly like the last one, the bright paint really stands out against the green background.
