Halfpenny Green.

Post by Maisie »

A visit recently, I finally got a photo of the Yak-55 that's hidden away in one of the Hangars. N405FD is also very nice, recently based there? New paint for G-BGON and N80N getting some fettling - all in great sunshine.

If I'm not mistaken isn't that Tony De Bruyn's SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 fourth photo down, unless he's sold it?

Not sure but I don't think the SF260 was Tonys, it was formerly based at Oaksey Park and has been at Halfpenny Green for a few months now. Its been a regular visitor to Halfpenny Green as the owner used to live locally. The YAK is hiding in the back of the microlight hangar but you do need one of the resident pilots to escort you into the hangar. The Cessna 337 was based at Halfpenny Green, then went to Bournemouth but is now back with the maintenance company on the airfield. HTH.

The SIAI has been Chalgrove based for a while, used to pay frequent visits to Shoreham from there when the Mustang was being worked.

Remember the Cessna 337 being sat next to the DS Aviation hangar for a while, only saw it fly a couple of times! Nice photos also!

Thanks everyone, the Cessna 337 every time I've been has always been in the main hangar you walk past when on the blue trail, only the last two times it's been where this photo was taken so I just assumed it's still based there? Be a shame to see it move... I've still not seen it fly!

I did ask for permission to go around, which was kindly granted. My main reason was to see the Yak that's been sat there for 2+ years?

Some photos from previous months..
