Project Propeller, Cosford 2015

Post by Timc »

Went along to Cosford this morning not really knowing what to expect from Project Propeller 2015.

This event is centred around WWII aircrew veterans being flown-in by various GA aircraft including some vintage airframes, so here's what I managed to capture during a very enjoyable few hours!

lovely set of shots, showing photos of a situation we can somehow share, in the pleasure the ex crewmen got having the flights...
Don't say something crass, to hide your envy. Just give credit, when its applicable...

Great set of photo's! I was one of the pilots who flew a veteran in. We were in C172 G-BGHJ. landed 09.55hrs.
What a great day it was & a privilege to be part of it.
My Friend Maldwyn Williams landed before me in C182 G-AZNO.

James Flowers Lancaster rear tail gunner. Next to G-BGHJ flew him in from Humberside Airport EGNJ.

Here you go Trev!

Pretty sure I photographed all the aircraft and not surprised there were around 140, it seemed to be a constant stream over the four hours I was there.

As one of the ex-aicrew veterans who attended may I say a big "Thank You" to the organisers of this event. It exhibits great generosity and thoughtfulness of all you young pilot/owners to provide such a wonderful nostalgic event for we "oldies". It brings back so many memories of our flying-days, of the comradeship, and of all our old friends - so many of whom have now moved-on to their final posting.
My thanks in particular to Steve Harrison with G-VIVS image 14 A great day! Thank you all!

Hello Paul

I'm the airside organiser for Project Propeller. I wonder if you could drop me an e-mail please? I'd like to print photographs of the aircraft that you've photographed and send them to the veterans who were on board. Don't want to infringe copyright etc.

Address is graham[AT]projectpropeller.co.uk

Thanks
