Glenrothes Piaggio P.136

Post by wallace »

I had a stroke of luck today being able to photograph N40040, a Piaggio P.136 seaplane, which briefly stopped at Glenrothes before continuing its flight to the Italian lakes.

Some detail shots first
For no other reason than I liked the High key effect.

Doors. Note the windscreen on the left, which can be opened for mooring

Engines running, what a beautiful sounding racket that was.

Ready to go and using every inch that the runway had.

... and lastly rolling.

That was by far the best movement through Glenrothes this year. I'm as happy as a dug wi' twa tails!

Thanks for getting these pics. We passed in the skies of Lincolnshire Sunday afternoon about 3:30...

I was somewhat surprised to see a flying boat, but more surprised to see it was a Piaggio. I didn't get too close  as I didn't have my camera with me  :-(

Fantastic as per usual Wallace! Think that must be the best ever movement for Glenrothes!
