Post by Phil Standfield »

Whilst at Biggleswade Town FC taking match pictures for Dorchester Town i had this fly over once. Looks unusual but coming from Dorset of course it may be something seen alot. Feel free to move if in wrong section.

Police helicopter at Wattisham is being replaced by 4 Vulcanair aircraft, but that isn't one, although it could be trailling surveillance equipment for the aircraft.

Its a Tecnam P2006- an Italian series of single and twin hi-tec light planes.

Brian - I can only see really lo-res pixelated images on that link but it looks like the Tecnam..

Cambridge News copied small images and then enlarged them, hence pixelated. It's a Vulcanair P.68R which was originally a Partenavia design before Vulcanair took them over.

Could also have been police helicopter crew getting practice in fixed wing flying.

Its definitely a Tecnam P2006T, in Ronseal tradition, it says so on the tin!

Thanks for the info. But as i was at Biggleswade trying to stay awake :cuppa: covering Dorchester's loss to Biggleswade at footie thought it rude not to turn the camera on something different although like i posted it maybe a very common sight up there.

Strange thought I posted this earlier ???? Where did it go ???

This aircraft was seen last year flying out of Old Warden, near Biggleswade. Better know as the home of the Shuttleworth collection. Maybe it has been hangared there over the winter ?
Think it was flying over Peterborough on Friday 24th March. Strangely for a civil type it was not showing on FR24.

Jammy so and so. I live just down the road from Biggleswade and have never managed to see this wee beasty but you come up from Dorset and bag it.
