The cones are probably just to stop cars etc. going down there....similarly on the day there are usually police around stopping cars going down to the field, but you can walk down.

Maybe not a footpath but bridleway is clearly shown.....maybe bring a horse with you

VL make it difficult for themselves. There is a simple solution and that would be to open up the field they have right next to the field with the sheep in. £2 a car everyone's a winner, VL make a load of cash and the punters are happy! Common sense should prevail when in the field and avoid standing directly in the approach.

Well, that bridleway ain't on my map - but I did say it's an old map, just checked and it was published in 1970

I don't have a horse to bring ...... but will be traveling with 165 horse power - will that do?

Sounds great and I'd go for it, however if they did do it, I doubt many would bother with the official Photocall that they get £20 a head for; so they'd probably lose out financially.

Just an example really, I agree Rotor I would pay if they had the P&V on the south side facing North!! Thats why its so important to make the most of arrivals! Will see you there Fri! Were you there when the F3's were meant to turn up? Think I may have bumped in to you, your name rings a bell

Agreed .... I'd happily pay for a dedicated south-side P&V for Friday's arrivals ....... hence my previous question:

... is ok to use the Friday Photocall 'holding area' car park for the day and walk to the fence on the south side of the approach, then enter the base on the second entry slot 17:00-17:30 ?

To clarify the situation on this, as per the organisers, Avon & Somerset Police will be patrolling the field all day Friday and all day Saturday.

This is purely cautionary, but is being mentioned for the ultimate benefit of all those who intend watching the show from this area.

Thanks

Does that mean kicking us out as we try and get in to the field?? Not sure why a Police presence is required to be honest! Never been required before! Its not a footy match!

Surely the Old bill should be helping out with the huge man hunt countrywide at the moment! Obviously time on their hands!! Lets hope Dave and George don't get wind of this, cut cut cut!!

Thanks for the heads up Paul, your posts ever useful and informative, keep up the good work and lets all have an enjoyable and safe arrivals day!

Would anyone be able to post up an arrivals programme for tomorrow, one does exist as there were a couple floating about last year for arrivals and practices.

Cheers

They definitely do exist, but generally they're not given out until the day itself...

Do you think this is just to stop people standing directly under the approach then and not people using the field in general. Only asking as this will be my first trip down there.

Would be good if one could get post Lomcevak, even if it is first thing tomorrow. At least it acts as a heads up to practices etc

Practice displays are usually between 1500 and 1600, and I suspect it'll include all three F-16s and the Jordanians.

Commando Assault usually twice, once late AM the other after 1700.
