Now come on Nick , we both know that high pressure will build over this weekend ,
Monday will be ok ,
Tuesday it will be blazing hot ,cracking the pavements ,
Wednesday will be heavy rain , fog, high winds ,plagues of frogs etc etc
and Thursday we'll all be back on the beach !

....and just think if St Mawgan show was still around we would have to endure it again the following week !
" and now ladies and gentlemen approaching from the right you will be able to HEAR a FN Etendard and Crusader pass overhead " Happy days !

Catch up with you next week !

You are so right Mark... 8 years in The Met. Office did me no good whatsoever!!!

Line up for CU looks pretty average... as ever. Would be good to go back to 1987... 3 Lightnings, Phantoms, Blue Herons & FGN Tonka - those were the days...

See you (CU) next week?

Culdrose airday has a tradition to live up to so there will be rain and a poor turnout as in most years in the last 10+.
If the show becomes too good everyone will want to go and imagine what the roads will be like around Helston then!

I think Tuesday afternoon will be a better day - cold front crossing the area bringing with it a NW flow which is always a better direction for Culdrose.

However, Tuesday is still a long way off and frontal timings can & do change dramatically.

Is the F16 & Vulcan operating from CU?

I think I'm right in suggesting that the F-16s over the years have usually operated from St. Mawgan. I was wondering where the Vulcan would operate out of, surely facilities would be minimal at St.M/Newquay these days ?

Just seen an Algerian Navy Merlin for the first time over the Cornwall area, it would I suppose be too much to ask to have one at CU next week. I'd settle for one of the Algerian Lynx.

Dry n sunny here in Cornwall today, building up for a splendid day on Wednesday perhaps !!

I have just had an e-mail from a friend at Newquay Airport, he was unaware of any airshow stuff operating out of Nqy. For Culdrose 06 and 07 the F-16's stayed at RAF St Mawgan for a couple of nights and operated from the HAS site. Apparently this facility is no longer available and of course, they will have to pay the airport operator fees, perhaps the reason why they have withdrawn.
The airfield is still capable (runway size and crash cover) of accepting most types, including the Vulcan.

I take it that the Vulcan will operate from Culdrose as it did on it's last appearance in 1993?

The fact that the aircraft's troubles might last until Wednesday...
