Yeovilton Arrivals

Yeovilton Arrivals

Postby Harry_Imp on Thu 01 Mar 2012, 12:05 pm

Hi All,

Can anyone suggest the best way to do Arrivals for a first timer for Yeovilton? I would rather avoid the photocall as I have to be in Southampton by 9 for the start of my Florennes tour, so is there anything better to do? Is there anywhere outside where I will be able to get the serials of all the lynxes etc already on the ground as this is what I am mainly interested in, but would also like to get a few photos??

Also does anyone know I'd cobham hall will be open at all?

This should help , pretty much all taken outside during the Year.
Whether you can get to some of these spots during the show is questionable.

Florennes

mostly taken outside on the approach

If their was no time limit, would it be advised to go on for the photocall?

Hi MerlinJon, having only just realised that they even open Cobham Hall I was delighted to see your post.
Do you know how I would find out more information, times, cost etc.etc.

Many thanks.

I am planning on going to the photocall tomorrow, not having been before.

As the weather forecast is not great - will it be possible to sit out the showers in the car or do you park miles away?

Also - is there any word on when the AN124 is arriving?

Car park is right outside the gate. The 124 will probably arrive on Saturday as I don't think it's landing.

You get to use the VIP Chalets/Enclosures on the Photocall and car parking is very close by.

Hot/Cold food and drinks for sale inside the Chalets as well.

Am just looking at the Saudi Hawks parked up at Nice with their C130.
Doesn't look like they're planning to move tonight.

Thanks for the replies chaps - I have persuaded the wife that the photoshoot will be a great break on the way to a weeks hols in the West country - being confident of keeping her dry is a major bonus for me (not sure about the rest of the week though).

Hi

Listening to Yeovilton App at 13.12 - "Saudi Formation" also calling "GREEN 01" just landed - described by ATC as 8 Hawks

Inbound now at 13.16 is "LOSSIE 91" assumed as a Tornado
