Canberra didn't arrive today due to technical problems at Kemble which they hope to be resolved tomorrow though the issue wasn't announced. Another missing aircraft will be the RNHF Swordfish which was towed across the airfield at lunch without an engine in it.

Gutted about both but it seems that Yeovilton have managed to source replacements today for some other items. Top work

Well I've just got home from Yeovilton. I actually really enjoyed the day. My highlights were the f-16 and f-18. I also thought it was quite nice to see the Yakovlevs again. Shame about the PR9, Chinook etc. Johnathon Whaley was brilliant... as ever! Nice to see the Vulcan again... Two weeks on a row... I'm not usually this lucky! I'm sure it'll go tech the next time I see it!

What a scorcher! We were warm all day.

Well it's a shame about the cancellations I suppose but otherwise an enjoyable day. Some nice stuff in the Static (we got a tour of the Caesar ^_^), some quality flying as well. Commando assault was noisy and cool.

Yes all round good fun. Downsides - George Bacon a good solo commentator does not make. Could do with more water bowsers around really.

Words cannot describe how I am feeling. Got there at 06.30 in the Hunter car park only to have the gate closed until well after nine. By time me and my son got to the crowdline it was almost full. We managed a spot at the far left hand end. Yeovilton you must improve on this, lots of very angry people at the start.
Onto the flying, gutted at losing the Canberra but both hunter displays were the best I have ever seen (I've seen a lot over the years). Blue note on nearly every pass from the T7 and Jonathan totally wrung out his hunter, the last pass was awesome. Then it all goes wrong, my boy had just returned home from a week a Butlins and was tired but also heat got to him. He wanted to go home. We had both been drinking lot's of water so I put it down to exhaustion. I had no choice but to leave just as the Vulcan was about to display. GUTTED.
The static I thought was good. That Phantom was great, even the pilots looked the business. Great to see the Caesar. My boy was given some freebies from one of the company reps.
Hopefully i will have better luck next year.

For me. It was O.K. Enjoyed the Hunter (s) F16 (albeit seen it a lot) and Hornet.

Bad bits. Like the last poster got there early, barriers were moved so all the later comers jumped in front. after long drive with the grand children, parked and walked to Portaloo in Phantom to find bridge was cable tied up, so walked all the way around again. Not great with very young ones (7 & 6) Hot and really could have done with more bowsers.

Grand-daughter wanted to meet the girl with the bear, She wasnt there and the RNHF didn't even know what I was talking about?? (why post it) :wat:

All told I spent Saturday at RIAT that was hot, but organised, plenty of Bowsers and all that flying for £78 a very enjoyable day, spent £52 for Yeovilton. and although I didn't really give it any thought at the time, RIAT looks much better value for money now.

Cancellations were what they are, cant do much about them, but No Canberra, Sea Vixen and a virtual no show from the RAF didn't really help, led to Gaps in the flying with annoying music that reminded me of daytime T.V in the 70's. All told would I go again maybe, would I take the grandchildren (NO WAY) not catered for and walking that distance in the heat was a lot to be expected of them. Not big issues but just enough to take the shine off the day.
