Which contradicts the info VTST have given.......they have it as Swansea first , then Penarth !!

I read that it was displaying at Swansea at 12:30 and (from a different source) flying over Penarth at 12:15, but I guess VTTS should know!

Just been to my local ticket office and they have sold out.

I remember last year there was a large static caravan selling tickets on the entrance as we were queuing ... anyone know what time they open? Really don't want to do a 2/3 hour drive to find they aren't open early.

Cheers.

Pretty sure they open when the car parks do so those queuing can get a ticket.

Hi all,

I'm thinking of heading down tomorrow, but won't be able to arrive until well after the gates open. Does anyone know how quickly (or if) the 'on the day' tickets sell out?

Thanks

In 2011 we turned up at 10:30am and got in no problem.

This year we have Flightline Club tickets which I got my father for his birthday so I have no idea what time to get there as its all new to me.

So excited about Yeovilton this year. Last year it suffered some very unlucky cancellations. Tomorrow the best week of the summer begins with a superb looking Yeovilton and then RIAT. Hoping this stuffy, humid and rainy evening passes. Sandwichs made. Beers frozen. Camera charged. Enjoy everyone!

Just packing the car with all my stuff, leaving in 10 mins. I'm looking forward to my first Yeovilton and hope to be somewhere on that raised mound people talk about. I'll be in my white Fly Navy Swordfish tee shirt with a Canadian warplane baseball cap on if anyone wants to say hi to this Northern Monkeh

Guys, I hope you all have a great day today.

Don't forget to come over and say hi by the Vixen.

In case any of you don't know. When the Vixen lands after its own display it will taxi to the 'show-side' where it will park behind the Vulcan.
After a shrot period both aircraft will be open to the public to view.
So please come along and say hello.

An update to this...
From yesterday's VTST newsletter :
XH558 will depart RNAS Yeovilton after lunch, so her take-off will be slotted in as part of the display schedule before leaving the circuit to display overhead Swansea Bay for the Wales National Air Show, then heading back past Cardiff Bay to Penarth for a flypast. On her return, she will enter her own display routine,

I've been watching since the Vulcan displayed about 1pm, and they haven't been on since then. No idea if they were on before.

I quite enjoyed the Mr Whippy Icecream Van display which was featured several times on the PlanesTV live feed.......so much more interesting than boring airyplanes & flying egg-whisks.

How was the Rafale/Etendard demo in the flesh? On the live feed in looked a bit tame (apart from the fourship passes).... I guess that may the difference of not being there.

Just got back to Yeovil from the naughty side. Bought my discounted tickets from work months ago but decided to stay outside and go far south east end upon seeing the forecast yesterday. Doubly glad I did, as for a large part of the flying, the cloud was over and the light was a bit grim. Shooting straight up if in VL village is hard in cloudy conditions i find....Much better to be south side if you ask me. Sat a bit further back this time and i got the best air day view i've ever had funnily enough. The French demo was absolutely fabulous. Rafales were really great and seeing the Etendards was also great. They sound wonderful at high speed. Really worth the long walk for them alone. Typhoon display was best I've seen it do. The Vulcan was great lots and lots of topsides. Thats the last time ill see her so its a sad day for me in some ways. My favourite was the Sea Vixen though. I just love the sight and sound. P.Aguilla were also suprisingly goid compared to what i recall them being like. Reds are still SO much better though.

Until next year. Well done VL...well done.
