Does indeed look good. Shame it's so out the way!

Will be interesting to see if the P-40 and Skyraider make it.

I am looking forward to it as well. First time for me at Culdrose. I hope some of the squadrons will be selling patches and other tat! Really hope the Swiss Hornet has a stand and that the weather is good. Also looking forward to the Swordfish and the Sea Vixen if they make it!

I have gone to most of the Culdrose shows in the last 20 years and never seen any squadron patches for sale, However 771 NAS along with 814 / 820 NAS usually have some stuff for sale, usually T - shirts / mugs. Weather forecast looking good so fingers crossed for a good day. Last chance for a close up view of a 771 Sqn Sea King.

Thanks for the heads up. Hope it's different this year. They are really missing a trick if they don't have stands.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but the 771 hangar will be open to the public for the first (and last) occasion on an Air Day.
Plus a couple of additions for the static.

Does anyone know what static foreign aircraft are on display this year? They're isn't much listed on their website and it would help me decide between Culdrose or Coningsby!

You can expect Polish Mig29's 114 & 115 1ELT PLF201 and C295 025 13ELTR PLF280
All 3 on the deck now at Leeuwarden, Mig29's expect to depart around 15.00 local and to arrive around the same time at Culdrose, followed by the C295 an hour later.

We expect them Friday back at Leeuwarden at 11.00 local, so probably a 9.00 departure from Culdrose

It seems they are ahead of schedule as PLF201 is at that this moment starting up again, so expect them 1 hour earlier in the UK, around 13.00z

I arrive about 8 and the sportsfield car park (opposite the main entrance on the A3083) is normally open. People walk down the road and queue on the pavement waiting for the gates to open. Not sure about the on base car parks.

I think a Dutch NH-90 is also due for static.

Have to admit I went to last years Air Day and thought it was one of the best they've done for a long time...undecided wether to go or not this year ( old man not going so don't fancy going by me tod) and sat by meself but the flying line up is looking good..Mig and a F-18! And the Chinook display which is always top quality! Anyone know of any decent view points to watch display if I don't go on base?

Going for the first time tomorrow. In Penzance as I could get anywhere in Helston. Getting bus at 7.25. Just wondering is theres a shuttle bus to the airfield? I know it's not that far to walk, but when I asked about the bus from here to Helston they said there was one?

I would say there may be? Is there info on the Culdrose air day web-page??..,.if the bus from Penzance drops you off in town and there is no shuttle service it's about a 15min trek to get in the base....providing there opening up a gate close/ near to end of run way?? Sorry I can't tell anymore

Good day all round, weather unusually good for Culdrose! Static a bit poorly laid out and difficult to photograph with barriers close. Very good flying programme and a bit of drama with Wildcat "JV579" seemingly getting swung around by the wind upon taxiing in and the wing touching the runway. No damage and everyone okay thankfully. The 3 ship Gnat's also suffered from the crosswinds with two of them getting rather close to each other early in the display.

Great paint scheme on the Chinook, MiG-29 display was good as was the Swiss F-18 and towards the finale so was the Sea Vixen.
