My 8 year old is excited about seeing the Vulcan again, but he's more excited about seeing the Chinook flying - he did ask if he was able to 'have a shot in it'!!

Update 14th August-

T-33

Static-
Squirrel HT1
Griffin HT1
RNLAF Dornier 228
Army Air Corps Defender
Sentinel R1
And last but no means least a VC-10

Fingers crossed for more, like the look of all the heavys but would like to see a few more fast jet military types, ie a German F-4F for the last time

Any chance of a Sentry, Airbus A.330 and/or an Army Apache for static?

T33 is a good addition to the flying lineup but the VC10 is going to be the highlight for me. Seeing as it's down as a C1K will it be XR808 with the anniversary tail?

There's also a Hurricane confirmed in the civilian flying section.

Lovely little update, Sentinel is most welcome but the Defender is a cracking addition - don't see them everyday.

To much to wish for some Italian participation?

Has a 651 Squadron Defender appeared at an Airshow before?

The Dutch 228 is a goodie as well. Static looks MUCH better than last year!

Last year could hardly be described as a static display ... rather a collection of parked aircraft that failed to fill a pretty large area.

I'm sure there will be home based Typhoons in Static and of course flying. Also can just hope we see some Lakenheath Eagles of some sort.

Hopefully in a better position than they were last year!

With two squadrons there now, I'm sure they'll have a few wheeled out to fit in between the ice cream vans! ;)

It was the case right up to the other day and as I said at the time "I'm not reading too much into that..."

Not a flying participant but something a little different...

With echoes of Royal Tournaments of the past, the RAF Leuchars Jubilee Airshow will feature a Field Gun Run amongst its ground attractions on Saturday 15th September. Two teams of 18 will race in this highly competitive challenge to “unlimber”, carry, and then reassemble a 12 pounder gun weighing approximately 1 ton in total and to fire the gun at the end of the run.

Is the Norwegian F16 Demo limited to displays in Norway(thought i read that somehwere)...??

Phantom 'Black Mike' & Lightning F3 would be nice in the static display area together... with a Typhoon in the middle of them... just a thought !! Its a pity the Tornado F3 on the gate couldn't be temporarily moved aswell so a Lightning / Phantom / Tornado & Typhoon 'air defence past & present' representation.........anyone knows the organising team? Prob a silly idea but..............

Only fair.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been getting it's share of flypasts, so why not.

Think the Tattoo was the last time I saw a field gun run.

Not sure that's worded particularly well - I suspect that should be they're "performing a flypast on that date ahead of their retirement" rather than "ahead of their retirement on that date" however you just never know the way things get chopped and changed in our Armed Forces...

Updated the list with a link to helicopter pleasure flights, the Field Gun Run and the BBMF participants (now Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane although can't confirm this from BBMF site as links seem to have disappeared to their flying programme!)
