F3 Send off - how far are you travelling?

As an F3 Fan I was wondering how far people are going to travel to see the Tornado F3 for one last time at this airshow! Would people travel from abroad?

I was thinking of going to Leuchars, but don't know how the sun would be during the airshow. Are spectators lookig into the sun?

Only if you're (un)lucky and get the sun!

As for the original question - coming up from Bolton Thursday to Edinburgh, then to St Andrews for the arrivals and staying over in Carnoustie Friday/Saturday nights.

I'm travelling from Bedford on the Thurs just like I've done for the last 4 years since moving down here. This is my last chance to see the F.3 so I hope it gets a good send off.

My brother and his two kids are making the pilgrimage all the way from Orkney especially for the show, and in particular to see Tornado F3s flying for the last time. He grew up with the Tornado F3, and remembers vividly when the first F3s arrived at Leuchars Airshow to begin the transition from the Phantom in 89/90. From memory, "Black Mike" was escorted in by the first pair of Treble One F3s at the show in 1990. Hopefully something similar is planned for this year, so in turn his kids can look back on the occasion with fond memories in 20 years time.

Train from Glasgow via Edinburgh as is my usual pilgrimage. Ridiculously early start considering the relatively short distance but it must be done.

Me and 2 mates are coming up by car from Edinburgh,hope the weather is fantastic as it was last year! Sad to see the Tornado F3 go,as it's been a favourite of mine,,but I do love the Typhoon! I do remember the Phantom handing over to the Tornado! Then will we see Typhoon partner up or handover to Taranis? Who knows,but hope the Tornado has a great send off.
