Would love to see one of these, was my favourite aircraft as a kid.

Had nothing to do with Top Gun being my favourite film.... :ninja:

Would be nice to get a few more heavys in the static park, would be even nicer seeing some fly. Unfortunately I have know idea how they'd they'd get them on the flight-line unless they parked it on the other runway like they normally with the Vulcan. Speaking of which, would be nice to see the big delta in the sky, always seems to draw in the crowd and adds to the atmosphere. I know a few folk on here couldn't care less about her but I'm only 19 and missed the glory days of RAF, so seeing her always gets me excited.

Just been watching some Team Viper footage on YouTube (and flying the Hunter on FSX) - would like to see them back with the Hunter 4-ship again...

The last time Leuchars had a B-1 Lancer flying, it parked waay up the Eastern end of the field, and most appearances from Nimrod and E-3 Sentry have been launched from their own bases, so have never taken off from Leuchars on show day. Only other Heavy I can remember in recent times (last 10-15 or so years) has been a C17, and that did land but I can't remember where it was parked.

Ukrainian Airforce Sukhoi SU 27.

We had an IL 76 transport aircraft in 2003 from them, so why not?

Would love a P-51 in the air too. Any chance of the newly restored P-47 having it's flying permit by then too?

Sounds really bizarre to me. Would be a great pity not to have the Vulcan up at Leuchars.

The Vulcan has owned Leuchars since 2008! Even though she's only been able to fly at Leuchars in '09 and '10 and not able due to the Weather in '08. Apart from the Tornado F.3 Farewell Finale Last Year (which I never saw  ) the Vulcan has been a real highlight for me.

If we can't get the Vulcan for whatever reason, then perhaps the budget which would have gone to her could go to securing the Sea Vixen instead? I'd be happy enough with that as a trade-off.
Posting comments on an aviation-related chatroom, are ya? Looks like it an' all...

Would be interesting to hear if it's down to:

- the Airshow team not yet booking it
- the VTTS Trust asking for too much money
- the VTTS Trust not knowing whether they're still going to be around in September and consequently not booking that far off (have seen a few late confirmations via Facebook)
- something else

If it's the 'not knowing' that's the cause, then Leuchars is in a crappy situation with the date being when it is. It'll also be a real kick in the teeth for those who can only make Leuchars and have been contributing to keeping the Lady in the air - paying for something that they won't get to see. I really hope that she can make it, and I'm sure that if she is still flying come the end of August, there will be some feverish activity to make the Leuchars appearance happen.

So let me get this correct, we are facing a Leuchars without (possibly)Vulcan, Lancaster, Phantom, Nimrod, Tornado F.3, Typhoon(Flying!), Harrier, Dominie, wonder what we'll be presented with in the place of these? Rafale? bring an F-22 over, any US Military Aircraft LN Eagle varient in Static/ Flying, B-52, B-1. Who knows, we will have to wait and see.
