Don't worry Fastjetfan, I understand that the Flying Participation will be updated in the not too distant future. A number of aircraft have so far been booked.

An Austrian Typhoon would be a fair addition if it were possible! Would also love to see an F-18! Somehow I don't think that's on the list of participants, would be nice though! Definitely with you on that one Ryan! Roaring afterburners and sleek shapes at speed---nice,as long as I also see classics such as Spit/Hurricane etc!

An F-15 flying display at Leuchars, you've as much chance of Irvine Meadow winning the Scottish cup as seeing that happen!

Groan! Please re-read my earlier post.

There are specific reasons why this won't happen, it's not Leuchars or the USAF being awkward!

Hey Stratocaster are you from Irvine by any chance, my dad say's the same thing about the Meadow :lmao:
Anyway i thought there would have been some update on the Leuchars airshow site by now :sleepy:
It's a pity it lands on the same weekend as the Sanicole airshow, have they not got 5 F-16 Display's now
As i said good to see the Patrouille back this year, also looking forward to the Typhoon display from the home team, found it strange that they
sent me a letter about the enthusiast package, especially when nothing has been confirmed or on the Leuchars airshow website as yet

To ask people to splash out that amount of cash when nothing's been announced is a poor way to do things. I'm not coming up on that package, hell I've not even bought my tickets yet when I'd normally have splashed out already by now...

with the airshow season about to kick off in the coming weeks, am hoping leuchars has a surprise or two in store. a little surprised the f-16s from belgium and dutch are not scheduled, but to be honest they have been regular attendees, so maybe time for a change, i have been at many shows and i know the airshow team try their best and manage things ok on the day. was wondering what you guys thought were the best jet display seen lately. i will kick of by saying the mirage 2000 by a country mile and watching the f-4 put through its paces was a rare privelege. my wish list would be f-4 german phantom and B1B lancer, on static, and finnish f-18 and refale french refale flying, and hopeing for a role demo this year.

In fairness we know pretty much the same about participation right now as we did last year, the only difference is that it's those perrenial attendees that won't be making it this time - Dutch/Belgian Vipers.

Not having those continental Vipers is a big hit though, imagine last year without them.

What does it say on the website again....

To celebrate the Queen's Jubilee, the 2012 RAF Leuchars Airshow will recognise the joint contribution of the Armed Forces during her reign.

Well strike the Royal Navy's Black Cats off the list of possibles now too.

Display list on their facebook page.

Well said AgDickie,

it's all very well people listing what won't or is unlikely to attend as display team/aircraft calendars are published on the internet, but there always seems to be a hint of panic. I imagine we'll get all or most of the R.A.F. stuff. What's not clear yet is what interesting aircraft are still in the possible frame? Danish F16, Polish F16/Mig 29, Norwegian F16? Any Gripens from anywhere at all, any F18s from anywhere at all. In addition, we don't know what could possibly be made available in regards to the various privately maintained Historic Flights which now operate some quite robust Cold war hardware; Red Star Rebels, Swedish and Norwegian Historic Flights, Sea Vixen and Hunters from wherever. Then there is always the chance of the home based aircraft perhaps putting up a flypast 4-ship. Then again, it could be as bad as Waddington 2009! :hide:
