The show as a whole is still pretty top notch though with many personal first timers for me.

Personally i would prefer the RC135 to be static so you could have a good look at the aircraft. Im sure there are reasons but i dont understand why a Mildenhall based tanker gets sent to European shows but doesnt visit Waddington for the weekend. Overall though we cant complain with the line up this year.

Good stuff, hopefully the 3 Sqn Typhoon is the special tail then and a quality addition with the Saab 340AEW

Can't wait for waddo next week, just hope the weather plays ball.

My apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere but does anyone know if the Black Eagles will be operating from Waddington for the Air Show weekend or will they be operating from RAF Leeming which isn't that far away from Waddo.

If they will be operating from waddo, when are they expected to arrive?

First post!

I have read they will be based at Scampton on Monday and Tuesday before moving on to Waddo.

We are thrilled to confirm the 77th aircraft for this year’s Air Show in the form of the illusive SAAB 340 ERIEYE AEW&C, from the Swedish Air Force

Amazing, yet another Aircraft i've never seen before

The food outlets are good. Cant beat a lincolnshire hotdog or hot pork roll but you pay ridiculously over the odds. And i mean stupid money! Nothing wrong with the quality, just depends how deep your pockets are.

Im gutted for those attending on the Sunday that the B52 has cancelled. Maybe the RAF SAR Sea King demo that's on Saturday will it? It's a shame the USAF aren't really taking part in Waddington this year, it would have been great to see a few American assets like Lakenheath Eagles. But that's life and the line up is looking awesome this year, I can't wait for Saturday 30th. The Swedish Saab 340 is a lovely surprise!

Yea, as much as it all smells nice, and i know for a fact RAF Chef's have to go round every outlet and do spotchecks on them, for the price of 2 burgers i can fill my whole coolbox with sandwiches, crisps, pasties, sweets, and drinks which will keep me full all day long albeit even less healthy.

Exactly. I bet your pushing towards a tenner for two burgers.

I also got Sunday tickets for the B-52... Oh well.

This is my first time at Waddington this year.. What is it like for getting out once the show is over? Is it going to be like, hours? Or is it quicker than that? I'm driving 80+ miles and really don't want to miss the Euro '12 final (so I'm extra sick that the reason I got Sunday tickets, isn't coming now..). won't be so bothered as long as England aren't there.. (fat chance, I know) Just wondering what it's like, time-wise, for actually getting out onto the road. :-) Thanks

Varies to be honest. One year I set there for over an hour, last year I got out within 10 minutes. Depends how soon you leave after the flying.

Agreed. I used to like the previous suppliers of said delicacy (from Sleaford I believe), as they also brought uncooked take-away packs. I always made sure I bagsie'd one or two, for enjoyment later in the year!
