The much advertised opening sentry, sentinal and rc135 formation turned out to be a sentry by itself....

I've just got back from today's show, absolutely brilliant! There were a few big gaps but thought that the displays other than that flowed pretty well. Loved Team Viper, did an absolutely sterling show!

Took me less than 10 minutes to get out, getting in this morning was an absolute joke though as all traffic was directed off the A607 across to the A15 which meant we queued for 1 1/2 hours to get in, why they couldn't let us go straight ahead to the Barn Farm entrance I do not know. Still, at least I was near the static and didn't have so far to walk to see everything so it worked out ok in the end.

Roll on 2012!!

What time were you in the queue to only be there for 1.5hrs?

Got turned off the A607 just outside Boothby Graffoe at just after 8. So make it 1 3/4 hours to get in!!

straight in parked up barn farm no delays. that was at 7am though :) then had 50 minute wait til they opened the gate but I'd rather wait queuing as a pedestrian than stuck in my car.

It's just dawned on me, reading the programme that I didn't see the islander... Did it turn up and I missed it due to it's size and civvie colour scheme, dismissing it as spam/filler on the taxiway

There was an Islander that arrived on Thursday but it left Friday morning. Didn't see any more in the arrival days. But speaking of missing aircraft, does anyone know what happened to the Swordfish. It arrived on Friday late afternoon but didnt see it in the static at all today.

Strange. I went down that end after the flying display had ended and it wasnt there. I thought it would have been down there as it parked in that area on Friday when it arrived. Perhaps its gone into a hanger for the night?

I was one of the first of aprox 10-20 cars through gate 7.
Once on the base it was obvious that all the other gates had been open for quite some time.
We were then directed passed the Nimrods and almost into the static park!
It then took a further 15 mins for someone to decide what they were going to do with the now line of around 100 cars.
We were then turned around to the ticket booths.
Once parked it be came apparent that a large amount of disable visitors had ended up in the with parked with us, despite telling the staff directing them.
These poor people were now basically entombed for the day having been parked on the long grass.
I can add that i saw no blue signs any where near gate 7 route.
People were also being refused to leave !
Only after the Vulcan had been on the shear number of people wanting out forced them to re-arrange the barriers to allow for people to exit.

Static display had few highlights.

Flying wise, agreed The Thunderbirds take off was impressive, the Vulcan impressive wing overs  ,Bronco,F-16 and the 2xGR4`s.

I do feel the team done well with what is available to be booked at the moment.

What happened to the sentinel flypast? Either I somehow missed it yesterday or it never happened?
