We can confirm we are in discussion with the ROKAF Black Eagles following contact from the team. As yet official permission has not yet been granted and we await a decision in the near future.

wooooohoooooo waddo

Brilliant news SilentFlight!!!

Wasn't really expecting The Black Eagles to come to Waddo as we were never given any clues that it was even being contemplated.

Excellent Stuff

Waddo 2012 just gets better and better - please, please, please RAF officials give them permission to land at Waddo - it may well be the location where they are transported to and re-fix the jets together!!! (i.e. their base in the UK for the other shows)

Their will be 10 aircraft coming over (2 spare), but they will all be stripped down and flown over by a fleet of 'large' transport aircraft and then rebuilt in the UK. So if they do arrive on the 21st of June they have a Week until Waddington, it will be tight if you ask me, but Waddington does look possible. The question is where will they be dropped off??..... Fairford maybe?

This will be quite an airlift - as South Korea has no heavylift capability, one can only assume chartered An-124s will be used.

I agree it doesn't matter to me where the black eagles were operate from it would simply be amazing to see them at waddington! Hopeful they will be confirmed soon and the new zeland 757 that's been mentioned on here too. When I got my tickets through there was a leaflet enclosed saying there would be 100 aircraft on the static display, so hopefully there will be some more additions soon. I've just seen a post on another board about 3 squardrons 100th anniversay typhoon and that it will be attending several airshows this season, now that would be a lovely addition to waddington this year, I'm crossing my fingers!

Of course it does! Without approval of a good airfield from UKAR they won't be coming!

Any word on the Vulcan yet? I guess they'll have to wait for their latest funding update before confirming.

I would take the quote of 100 aircraft on the static with great scepticism.

With South Korea's relationship with the USAF it could possibly operate from Mildenhall, maybe with C-17 support

Reading on various other forums that the French air force show at Avord the same weekend as waddo will no longer have any foreign participants, any chance for waddo to nick a few extra items to their already impressive list?

They had belgian and danish F16s flying aswell as the belgian A109, with some nice bits in the static. Bet the Jordanians are happy with cancelling at waddo for avord a few weeks ago
