Great news, well done Waddington! The Swiss Hornet is one of the best European fast jet demos.

I prefer an e-mail or piece of paper to confirm.

The last time one flew was waddo air show 03. It was a Spanish EF18A, and the last time in stactic was again two Spanish in 2008. One with tiger markings i believe. It will be nice to have the Swiss back. Well done.

Well done Silentflight on getting the Swiss F-18 Hornet and the Cougar demos - the Swiss F18 IMHO is one of the best fast jet demos and I have never seen the Swiss Cougar display.

Two little questions for you Silentflight:

1. any chance that the Reds can be based at waddington for the show this year? It is always said that waddo is their 'home show' but it would be really nice to see them take off and land at waddington, rather than flying in from scampton. Nowadays there arn't many airfield based shows where we can actually get a chance to see the reds formation take off and then break and land.

2. With the news that there are not planning to be any USAF displays this year any chance of getting the Rivet Joint to flypast in the 'station flypast' at waddo again this year? if so could you ask them to fly a little lower?

Well done again Silentflight, hopefully more good news to come for the 'RAFs Premier Airshow'!!!!

Answers to the questions:
1. Whether the Team operate from Waddington or not depends on what other events they are doing and the logistics required for things like the dye team. Operating from Scampton is often the best option.

2. It is unlikely that a Rivet Joint will be allowed to join in Station Flypast (we did ask last year) the aircraft are still under USAF command and the RAF crews operating the aircraft have to abide the American rules which are more restrictive than RAF rules.

Superb news and two cracking additions, especially so early on. Last year's Waddo was superb and it looks like this year has the potential to be even better. After a couple of years in the "wilderness" it seems Waddo is back! Well done folks!

Great to see Waddington on the BBMF 2012 schedule for the Lancaster, Spit and Hurricane. I've never been fortunate enough to see a Dakota in the air though, so I'd love to see that as well

A400M would be awesome, but then so would the A380. Any chance of getting one of the new RAF Voyagers to do a flypast or appear in the static?

Any news on any of the other foreign teams?

With regards to the music during air displays the examples below from the Breitling Jet Team's 'Poetry in Flight' display at the Biggin Hill International Air Fair shows how music can be used to enhance the display. Hope that the Breitling Jet Team may be appearing at Waddo this year too!!!
