That is indeed a shame. Wonder what they can possibly get to replace XH558? - Thankfully we can still look at XM607.

Hunter T7 & Red Star Rebels are the flying back up items I believe. So one of them.

Plenty of other stuff to enjoy apart from the Vulcan and stuff not seen here before although quite a few display teams displaying for between 20-30minutes could become quite boring apart from the wonderful Frecce who always manage to pull something special out of the hat.Lets hope for fine weather and better traffic management than previous years

I suspect far, far more will turn up to see the brilliant line up available rather then make a stupid decision like that based on one aircraft no appearing!

Have a watch of people the same thing happens with the BBMF and Red Arrow's. So i say put them all as the first three displays (If the Vulcan wasn't sick) The airfield would be half empty by dinner time

Lets hope so, then perhaps we can get in to the show a lot easier and have a bit more room on the crowd line.

Would have been nice to see the Vulcan but really not fussed. Its just one plane at the end of the day and its not as if it hasnt been around for the last few years.

The Vulcan would have been nice, but the Sentry, Sentinel, RNZAF 757, B52, and anything else in the near-future more than makes up the numbers in terms of 'heavier' displaying aircraft. A Hawker Hunter for a civvie replacement display would go down well.

Its a real shame the Vulcan won't be able to attend this year given its the the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict today, the jubilee year and waddingtons past association with the Vulcan but there are so many fantastic displays this year im sure that it's going to be the best show in years! Hopefully there will some more interesting static aircraft added this year and either the red star rebels or civvy hunter replacing the Vulcan. Ben

It will be interesting to see what replaces the Vulcan in the flying display. There isnt any US items on static yet, i would guess there would be something, maybe a kc135 or a f15 or two.

Whilst obviously disappointed about Vulcan XH558 having to cancel due unforseen circumstances I think the rest of the flying display is looking pretty good and hopefully we get a good Weekend (I'm only there Saturday) Weather wise.

On the static display front I guess as has already been stated before on this topic we will all just have to be patient and see what turns up on the day.

Good luck and best wishes to SilentFlight and the rest of the organisers.

Whilst it is always good to see the Vulcan, I don't think it is fair to SilentFlight & Team who have put together a cracking display at Waddington this year when people say that people will not go just because it is not there.

This is one of the best line-ups ever including the South Koreans, Saudis, Dutch, Italians, Begians, Polish, Czech, Austrians, Americans and more flying plus even more on the ground. Will be a classic show.

Yes the Vulcan can't be there, but its not the organisers fault. The show must go on..........

SilentFlight please can you let us know who will be replacing the Vulcan in the flying display. Will it be the RedStar Rebels or will you get another foreign flying item to fill the slot?

Good luck for the show this year - will be brilliant, already have my tickets for saturday!!!

With all the money that's now available from the lack of Vulcan, there's certainly potential for it. Or the Swiss Mirage III would be amazing!
