Coming from the South..

Coming from the South..

Postby Sezzy on Sat 30 Jun 2012, 3:44 pm

Hello again, I'm coming from the South, up the A1 from Cambridge area, I have been warned not to use my Sat Nav, well, not when I'm close to Waddington, anyway. If any of you also come up the A1, do you know if there will be signs to the Airshow on the A1 itself? I would have thought so, but having never been it would be great if one of you can clarify this. I hope those of you that are there today are having a great time, and I hope the traffic/directing issues that sounded horrendous last year have not reared their head this year! I'm super excited about tomorrow, even my 13 year old is acting more grown up than me today.... :D

Travelling on the A1 northbound you will see signs before the Newark area as the junctions/rounderbouts for the A46,A17 are there. There Plenty of signs to guide you in.

I'll be coming up from the South too. I tend to take the B6403 junction (a few miles south of Grantham) and stay on that all the way to Cranwell (going past Barkston Heath and through Ancaster) and follow the signs from there. Very quiet and direct bit of road!

Agree with SuffolkBlue's route. Always seems quiet and very good road - always do that bit much faster than the SatNav says
