Could be a rather nice Miles formation hopefully and is that Mr T's Hurribomber or another one?

The Hurricane is the Hangar 11 Hurribomber. Chipmunk and Bulldog two-ship formation were also at Little Gransden. The early part of the programme is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the MacRobertson air race from England to Australia. The Puss Moth flew the route for the 50th anniversary. A Miles Falcon and Dragon Rapide also took part in the original race, hence the line up.

What a cracking line up for the season finale, great to see so many visitors, especially PTs Hurribomber! I'm definately going to try to get up to this one

Yes, and i am guessing this is Shuttleworth's Maggie and the two all-yellow sister ships. Would be great if they could get the Hawk Trainer, G-ADWT also?

Fantastic show yesterday, a really great end to Old Warden's season (and what a season it has been!). Also thanks to Huw for the company.

Superb flying, good weather (for the most part, despite the winds preventing the Edwardians from flying) and a varied, interesting line-up with some unusual visitors and nice formations/sequences.

Highlight for me was the Sea Hurricane/Me108 dogfight - the best 'dogfight' I've seen this year, as it wasn't just a standard tailchase. Instead, you had Keith Dennison in the Sea Hurricane diving in from height to get on the '108's tail, before climbing up to alititude and diving back in. That final pass, with the Hurricane getting right on Clive Denney's tail before pulling up into a steep wingover, was just splendid. Keith's Sea Hurricane solo after the dogfight was lovely, too. Excellent stuff.

The Hurri-bomber display was a good a Peter Teichman display as I've ever seen. Graceful aerobatics, low passes, topsides, barrel rolls - how a Hurricane should be flown. Shame about the technical problems she suffered at the end of the show, but these things happen.

Also good to see the based Rapide for the first time this year, together with the lesser seen Puss Moth. The Harvard was a welcome addition/replacement (as was the Avro XIX) and put on a cracking routine. I also liked the idea of the Bristol F2b parked in the crowd, without any barriers, next to the agricultural equipment near the entrance. A small touch but something that other shows could take note of.

In all, you couldn't ask for a better end to the OW flying year. Here's to a great 2010!

Ditto from me.

Congratulations to the organisers and the multitude of unsung volunteers/helpers. It was also good to see the Desoutter in the sunshine.

Can't wait for 2010.

A shame the Hawk major couldnt make it. Not enough bodies to get it out of the hangar apparently. Thats a great shame because its based at a farm strip about half a mile as the crow flies away from me. If I'd have known I would have popped over and given him a hand.

Just want to echo previous words. I have to say sundays season finale was one of the best shows I've attended at Old Warden this year in terms of both line-up and weather!

Firstly, the mock dogfight between the Me-108 and Sea Hurricane is the best mock dogfight I've ever whitnessed, really got the feeling the Hurris was actually making attacking passes rather than just performing a tail chase in figure of eights.

Was also nice to see a Harvard on the list as well and thoroughly enjoyed the display put on, seeing as there's so many around not that many pop up at airshows for my liking.

The highlight for me had to be Peter Teichman's Hurribomber, that I'd been chasing all season! His display was highly energetic and full of aerobatics which is shades different from most Hurricane displays today, all flown in some of the best light of the show too! Unfortunate about the hydraulic leak keeping her from departing after the show, but only a minor issue luckily that will be cured in due course.

Was nice to meet Elliot and his brother also! We'll soon be hunted down if anyone overheard our conversations...

Cheers, Huw

I haven't been decapitated by a "rogue" data plate yet, so we might have slipped under the radar (not too low, I might add)...

Also completely agree with your comments re: the Hurricane II. Good to see a Hurricane flying plenty of vertical aerobatics and graceful barrel rolls. We always see Spitfires being flown in fully aerobatic displays, it makes a nice change to see the Hurricane being flown similarly.

You are of course aware that the reason the Sea Hurricane doesnt go upside down is because it isnt certified for aerobatics? I agree it was a superb display by Peter Teichman and very nice to see the Hurrbomber at long last (my own fault for not travelling to see it sooner somewhere).

Indeed I am; no offence intended to any other Hurricane pilots/operators if my comments sounded critical.

The Sea Hurricane displays I've seen this year have been amongst the best Hurricane displays I've ever seen, particularly from Keith D. and Trevor R. Just wonderful - and ample proof (as if any were needed) that you don't need to aerobat an aircraft to put on an excellent display.

Just found this on the FlyingMachinesTV YouTube channel!

A truly spectacular minicam on the wing of the Dagling glider... Looks like something from a new Call of Duty game.

Wow, what a unique viewpoint, we were tying to imagine what it would be like to be strapped to the front of this thing and it seems our calls have been answered!
