Autumn Airshow 2012

Post by KAM68 »

I've just received the event dates for the 2012 season at Old warden. The Autumn Airshow (07.10.2012) is to incorporate a special Cold War era fast jet reunion. Looking forward to more information being released

Surely that'll blow their budget if they're serious about it?

Meteor, Vampire, Venom, Jet Provost, Hunter, Sea Vixen, F-86, Vulcan. What else?

If they can pull it off, this will be one show I want to be at. (Good weather would be a bonus).

Knowing Old Warden it will probably be a reunion of ex RAF personnel who served during the cold war. Might get a JP and F-86 if your lucky.

Looks like a worthwhile visit again to Old Warden. Its not been a nice year for the place so hope 2012 goes out on a high for them, I am planning a day off work for this one.
Is the Vampire booked WZ507? I am assuming it is.

Just had a look on the Shuttleworth website for the event and the Comet has now been unfortunatly cancelled due to undercarriage issues it seems. Real shame but still hoping to go to the airshow, looks a good one.

Well, the line up didn't happen, but then I really didn't think it would. What did happen was a really good air display! Thoroughly enjoyable!

The only down side was a security man at the entrance mouthing off at a motorist and the fact that the blokes loos behind the hangar were stinking even as I arrived at around 13.00: they were worse at 18.30. Not good enough!

Regards

Ah, sorry, got confused. I won't be able to go to that one as I shall be at the West Somerset Railway's Autumn Steam Gala. Still, I enjoyed the show, the film has come out well but needs a little more editing.

I thought it was mentioned earlier in the year that they were holding an extra show on either 20th or 21st October after they had so many unfortunate cancellations earlier in the year?

Ohh! I would welcome that! But I don't see any mention of such a thing on their website - yet.

I've heard nothing official, but I do seem to recall reading it on the forum - someone posted that it was announced in commentary at one if the earlier shows IIRC.
