I did a Flying Proms at Sywell a few years back - rain, rain, rain...

I'd expect it'd be an enjoyable evening if the weather is good, however if you're looking for a big flying display, you'd be better going to one of their flying displays.

Dudster - A mate of mine visited last year & told me that it was brilliant & well worth going to. He is visiting again this year again because he was so impressed.
I think the day involves the usual flying display (albeit a bit shorter than usual) during the afternoon. Followed by the proms concert which later on weather permitting will have the Edwardians joining in flying to the music. The event finishes with a really spectacular fireworks display. Their was Rapide pleasure flights as well. Hope this helps mate.
Funnily enough, I visit almost all the flying events at OW throughout the season except the proms as it always coincides with other commitments. Next year hopefully

I did the Duxford Proms when they had it running.

Great event, take your picnic, chairs and umbrella. If it rains, everyone stays put, typically British.....
