What a nice little lineup, that DH60G in particular doesn't get out and about anywhere near as much as it should.

I'm presuming there's a theme of women in aviation planned here (Tracey Curtis-Taylor's Stearman, hang glider possibly being flown by Judy Leden)? An enjoyable change, particularly given that so few of these are especially regular airshow participants.

Is that the flying debut of the Camel?

The visiting aircraft aren't doing a lot for me save the Mew Gull replica and the Percival parade - maybe a nice Proctor or two in there.

If they could get the DH9 over or the Snipe and Albatros having missed out in August, it would certainly float my boat a little more. The aerobats may be good, but its not what I crave at OW to be honest.

Camel v Albatros

Only just noticed that. Provided the wind is kinder it should be a good show.
Now they just need to get the Albatros, DH-9 and Snipe, and it would be another classic Old Warden show with a bit of everything.
Personally I don't mind the aerobatic displays (when they're done properly), makes for some good shots (especially with a big lens)

Chances are the BBMF Dakota won't make it. I've been to countless event where its supposed to appear, and I've only ever seen it display 2 maybe 3 times. I thought the Dakota was meant to be rugged and reliable?

As for no BBMF fighters, good, waste of time booking them, slightest breeze and they won't turn up. In the unlikely event that they do turn up, its just a waste of time and money for the show organisers.

Edit: Just looked through my flickr, I can confirm I've only ever seen it display twice, I have no idea how many airshows I've been to where its meant to turn up and it hasn't (I'm guessing quite a few as it has become a regular occurrence to see it on the list and say it won't turn up), so statistically speaking, theres more chance of another no show from it, than there is of it turning up.

Well at least he's gambling the right way, totally for the wrong reasons I'll give you that, but he won't be losing money.

Fingers crossed they replace it with the Lanc and the crew heave it around the bend and up into a tailslide before departing with the negative g knife-edge. :joystick:

Asking for a topside (which is possible to do in there aircraft as proven by civilian display pilots) is completely different than asking for it to do something thats impossible.... :surrender:

Using your phenomenonal statistical logic I would say you've missed it about a million times..give or take 999,999.

There is nothing stopping BBMF pilots from doing top sides. What is stopping them is the Release to Service document which lays down the max. limits to what each aircraft can fly to.

RTS max. limits for the Hawk were breached display flying and we all know what happened to that act.

If we get the full WWI contingent, including the Camel debut, this could be rather special indeed!

Can we have the sausage & duck egg van back too, please? That coupled with the iced latte stand... :worship:

Has the Camel flown yet? I know it was on engine-tests recently, but not see any reports of it flying so far.... can anyone advise, please?

Thanks

Sea hurricane, and Little and large still on the list?
I would have thought both would be out of action this weekend :dunno:

We still might get Large, just not Little.

BBMF Dakota is fairly unlikely as well.
