Crikey, that's a good list, Catalina topsides! So the Sea Hurricane has been repaired?

Is the Collection's Spitfire likely to make an appearance this season? Last I read on Key, the engine is in and gear swings have been carried out...

At their engineering open day, it was said to be realistically the end of 2017.

When I last saw her late last year first flight looked a long way off. Hope I'm wrong though.

Looks like the Sopwith Camel is now off the flying list, I was really looking forward to its premier, and maybe even with the Pup and Triplane. Oh well, soon perhaps?

Added under "the Collections" aircraft. Perhaps a typo though.

The rather unsightly, "unpainted" TE311 is set to provide the BBMF flypast at 14.30... :cuppa:

The weather did play ball. It was a good well-attended day I thought. Pretty standard OW fare, but there's not much wrong with that!

Best news is that they have reorganised the cafeteria and at around 12.45-1.00 there was only a pretty short queue instead of the usual 30-40 wait to move slowly through from outside the building! Well done OW

A few pics will follow.

Very good day, nice displays to get back into the swing of it. Amazed at the number that left early, especially as the WW1 stuff then flew despite fears about the wind!

We only made a last minute decision to go, as the sunshine was better than expected (I live in Biggleswade), and stayed until around 1630 - we watching from near the hangars for most of it - car park seemed well populated, so assume numbers were good.

The BBMF Spitfire did look rather dull!, but on the second pass did make good use of the display-curve.

The trio of Spitfire + Hurricance + SeaHurricane put on a really good display, especially after they split into the pair and solo portion of the display - thoroughly enjoyed that display.

The Catalina display was good, seemed fairly lengthy, and (while not everyone's cup-of-tea), the Fauvel Glider put on a stunning routine. And the Comet was displayed :-)

Overall - great show, wind hampered a few items, but good opener to the season.

Cheers
Alisdair

Can anyone advise who the BBMF Spitfire pilot was?? I was down the road at a Steam Fayre in Stotfold and the Spit did a few flypasts and was very graceful. The event person didnt say much apart from Spitfire from BBMF that was it.

Hi,

For anyone that attend the Season Premier, were the display lines any different from last year?

I'm due to attend Fly Navy at the beginning of June, can't wait to be honest. Hopefully the weather is the same as last year!
