Just bought my ticket for this event, anyone know if there'll be any further additions to the visiting aircraft list? It's much diminished in comparison with the Fly Navy day a month earlier but for the same cost - as much as I love the Blenheim and Scout I would love to see a Spitfire or Mustang added to accompany the Hurricanes

Still no mention of the BBMF on their website, however Mustang 'Miss Velma' has been added and there are now the three resident Hurricanes on the list too.

IIRC, they weren't on the list for the Fly Navy show either.

Well spotted, I checked yesterday afternoon and they hadn't updated the list but must have done shortly afterwards. 'Miss Velma' is a rare visitor to Old Warden so that's a top notch addition (formation round the dogleg bend with Sally B anyone? :heyhey: ) Also it's good to see the third Hurricane added - it'd be nice if they flew as a trio again, I don't think anyone can get enough of that

BE2e added, making use of its shiny new CAA Permit to Fly.

Camel, SE5a and Avro 504k removed from the list (presumably all still suffering from engine ailments).

Unfortunately that is very unlikely, as there will need to be an airtest programme, then crew training and display practice, then PDA signoff before they can start making display appearances.

Was a PDA achieved before the end of last year's season, when it flew at a few shows? Also, would a few flypasts at Old Warden require a PDA sign-off?

I would think the Lanc is hopeful. It hasn't had a test flight yet, let alone the crew work up and PDA.

The Lancaster 100% won't be ready for this weekend's events according to sources, as it has cancelled from Blackbushe.
In my opinion the list looks a little thin but still time for something to be added I guess.

Won't happen until engine issues are resolved, which could take a while.

Be good to see Sally B at Old Warden, first time for me I thought until I checked my photos on A.net and there she was on August 25th, 1979 (gulp!) great top side pass, although she was in natural finish then, and may not have been named 'Sally B' at the time?

It was named 'Sally B' fairly soon after it arrived in 1975.

Yes, thinking about it, I'm sure you're right in saying that. Named after Sally B (forget her surname) who was involved with the B-17 at the time if I remember correctly.

Based on its previous two visits, I assume the Blenheim is landing again?

Any idea if Miss Velma will be?

An improved weather forecast has got me considering this one now, especially now that Headcorn is no longer worth travelling for next weekend.

Blenheim is also appearing at Swansea, so possibly not?
