I was lucky enough to be offered a Hastings trip and didn't need to be asked twice. The date was 24 June 1976, the aircraft TG503, and the captain Flt Lt Fred Hambley. It was a radar nav training sortie, Scampton to Yeovilton, across Exmoor, low level over Wales and the Irish Sea, Cumbria, and back over the Yorkshire moors to Scampton, about 4 hours in total.
Twelve months later the last few Hastings were gone, and 503 now lingers as a fading Airlift relic in Berlin.
Fred, if you or yours happen to see this, many thanks again for a memorable experience!

Fantastic - oh to be born 40 years earlier!
The cockpit isn't half high off the ground when parked!
