ATI92 - Boscombe

Post by TomG »

With digging out the memories truly in vogue a delve into the slide box found a set from ATI92, the second IAT organised event to be held at Boscombe Down. In my mind this was one of the best collections of aircraft assembled at any of the 'IAT' events; more to come if demand merits!!

Love seeing shots from the early 90's. Those display Phantoms look awesome. Please post more shots if you've got them!

Another great set of memories fella, concur that was some show

One thing I dont seem to have shot at that show was the Spang Weasel for some strange and very annoying reason

Lovely stuff, a show I wish I had been able to go to (though doubt I'd remember too much anyway)

Any more shots of that lovely looking pair of Crusaders?

Last batch for tonight; it's only when you look back through the collection you realise what a cracking mix of aircraft we experienced at airshows past! Sadly most of what we see in this area of the forum is now history; enjoy, bored yet??

Have to agree with you, Tom about ATI92.

I think this and IAT 93 and 94 (the ones with the Bears and Aussie F-111) were the best airshows I've ever attended let alone worked at!

Halcyon days

Another selection from the varied static at ATI92; I'll dig out pics of the many test aircraft that were present for the next post if you're interested?

Very nice Tom, but what a poorly attended show that was - no people at all

Seriously though, superb weather, superb aircraft.

The KC-10 was an unusual beast, first one I saw in overall grey, but a much lighter shade than what was eventually adopted. Debuts of Frogfoot and Fitter, mass US Navy line up, Crusaders, Lightning, testers galore, fantastic.

Lovely scans

Fantastic Tom, as Capercaillie states the KC-10 was unusual in the lighter grey scheme. Keep them coming...

The grey KC-10 caused a few raised eyebrows when it arrived due to the very light grey scheme it was carrying; there were almost too many superlatives during the days leading up to the weekend itself and you've all recalled them perfectly. Here's a start on some of the testers that were present, I'll get some more as and when I can, work calls!!

Not many left now; here's the last four of the testers which will be all for a short while as duty calls in the morning! Thanks for the continued interest and I'm glad you're enjoying the shots.
