Greenham Common 1974. Possibly the last KC-97 Stratotanker display in the UK?

Brilliant Mike, shame we don't have sound to go with them! I started going to airshows in 1974 but sadly not Greenham so never did see a live KC-97.

Mike

Not quite the last UK display, a KC-97L also appeared at IAT 1976, this time 0-30327 from USAF 181 ARS, TX ANG.

Just lovely lovelyness Mike, the 'strat series was a fine old crate. Yep, '76 bird was static only, the '73 display was flown by a Wisconsin ANG machine, still can remember how damn noisy they were!

Just fantastic, this was one of my favourite aircraft, I remember taking photos of 22630 in the air at Greenham and also seeing the other in the static at the other show there,
big thanks for showing these, good to see them again, i must dig out my old photos now and have a look at them !!
Cheers,
