80's Airpower

Post by JohnH500 »

Hi There

Well I have acquired an Epson V500 Photo scanner, and have had a quick try scanning some of my old slides taken in the days when the planes were more interesting, but the photo gear was strictly bottom of the line...

Still for those of you old enough to remember Det 4 at Mildenhall, West Germany flying F104 Starfighters, 1-11's at Upper Heyford, Lightnings at Binbrook, and more than 1 Vulcan in flyable condition. these may take you back a bit.... If only I had the digital and L glass back then...

Hope you like them, qualities not brilliant but they bring back some happy memories.

John H

man those were the days - not only did we shoot with bottom of the line gear, we now have the monumental hassle of scanning

always nice to see these scans though - thanks!

Thanks very much to everyone for the positive comments....and glad you enjoy seeing some of the older stuff.

I will have a look through my old colour negs as well...and see if anything interesting is in there.

A few more for you.

Hi there

Yes the Corsair was at Greenham, and shot using a Zenit E and a M42 screw thread manual aperture 300mm F5.6 that was a tad!! soft wide open  hence why it looks a bit "arty" or blurred if you prefer.
