"I feel the need for Speed"...Tomcats
I was lucky enough to be at NAS Oceana during the final week of F-14 operations at NAS Oceana back in September 2006. This surely has got to be the most beautiful & charismatic jet ever produced? Some of these you may have seen before, but thought it would be nice to see the 'Big Cat' at 1200px.

Re: "I feel the need for Speed"...Tomcats
That's probably become my all time favorite post . Loved the Tomcat , such a fantastic jet. Wish I was lucky enough to do Oceana in the final week. Sadly I caught up with these a couple of months later parked up by Kolb road at DM . Not nearly as impressive
Superb shots Stuart .
Ever so slightly jeleaous
Cheers,
Mark

Re: "I feel the need for Speed"...Tomcats
Only ever saw two F-14s so this post has made me really, really jealous.
Re: "I feel the need for Speed"...Tomcats
I am a huge fan of the Tomcat, had a flight sim "Fleetdefender" back in the day and that fueled the love affair, then there was Topgun which as we know made this plane an instant hit as if that was necessary.
So your post is very sweet my friend, unfortunately I will never see this plane in the sky now but your images do it justice, for me especially #3 and 18.
Great post, thank you.

Hi ET
Glad you enjoyed the post, the Big Cat was such a beast of a fighter compared to the Hornet, it was a very poignant week knowing they would never fly again but am so glad I made the journey to Oceana to see an F-14 for one last time.

Re: "I feel the need for Speed"...Tomcats
Really sad knowing that I will never get to shoot a Tomcat being one of my favourite fighters.
Such an amazing aircraft and just looks the business at any angle!
Great stuff again Stu

Good to see this pop up again. Made my day.
It still makes me so sad to think that I never got to see these, my all time favorite jet. Makes me go out and see everything that I can now.
