Mildenhall 1996

Post by comet4 »

Here is another blast from the past. These were taken at Mildenhall in 1996.
They are all static shots as I only had a basic camera at the time. The negatives have also deteriorated a bit as over the years as well.

Wow! My first airshow, thank you for sharing these!

I went to Cosford last month and thought the Belgian Navy Allouette was the first one that I had ever seen, I didn't realise I'd actually seen one 20 years previous.

Great to see these - the only one I missed in a run from (IIRC) 1976-2001.

That's a bit of a coincidence. I've just had my K64 shot of that A-10 81-0952 taken at Mildenhall on 25/5/1996 accepted by A.net.

Yes, the burgers and Polish sausages were something else.
Some years ago at one of the American Air Days at Duxford (do they still have them BTW?), I asked some of the American servicemen why they didn't do a similar barbeque there. They repilied that the museum wouldn't let them. I suppose that the museum wanted to rent out pitches to the fast food vendors.
Anyway, here are a few more pictures from that airshow.
