Kemble Airshow 2007 - 10 years ago

Post by boff180 »

I really really miss this airshow, it was always a great laugh and has left a massive gap in the airshow scene.

Back then I was using a D200 and the first variant of the 50-500 which was less than stellar

Here's a few shots that I've had a look at again tonight, ah nostalgia.

i love that special scheme on the hawk. The shot of the tonka behind the canberra is excellent also, very dramatic.

Ten short years, but the scene has changed so much in that time. I think that's even more noticeable looking at the likes of Kemble from 2007 rather than RIAT. A class of airshow that really no longer exists, sadly.

But really nice to see, and well worth revisiting Andy.

Kemble was a great venue.

Look how classy the Red Arrows livery was back then too, before it was covered in that awful corporate scrawl and then had the fussy new tails added. I'm sure they changed the shade of red paint used too?

Yep. The classic Red Arrows livery exuded quality. It was timeless.

Had a look through mine from the same show earlier. Don't think any of them would even get edited these days, let alone posted!

Kemble was a great venue and held some fabulous airshows, until the disastrous "Best Of British" farrago killed them off.

Forgot how nasty the markings were on that Venom!

Great to see. That Canberra / Tornado shot is terrific.

A 43 / 111 F.3 formation? Very nice. Can't recall seeing that at Leuchars.

Hard to think of it as 'Golden oldies' yet. (Makes me feel old(er). But yes, Kemble put up some damn fine shows and formations. I really miss it too. What's worse is that, as with some other classic jets, that Venom is leaving us.

Great Pics, fantastic show and location, as others have said how things have changed in such a relatively short time,(sighs into Ovaltine)

Great pics - hard to believe this was 10 years ago! The black-tailed 43 Sqn F3 is, I think, now in the RAFM!

I really miss Kemble airshow - never really understood why it was cancelled? Money I guess, but it always looked very well attended.
